Tyler grew up in Oceanside, California. As a child, he always enjoyed working with his hands and knew that he wanted to do something in the field of engineering. Out of high school, he attended MiraCosta Community college where he spent two years and then transferred into the Mechanical Engineering program at San Diego State University.
Through his time at SDSU, he has enjoyed being apart of the SAE Baja organization and has enjoyed the people he has met during his time there. He also had the opportunity to TA for Professor Negus and appreciated being able to assist him. The coolest opportunity that Tyler says he took advantage of at SDSU would be when he had the opportunity to study abroad in Furtwangen, Germany. Through his time in Germany, he was able to explore many parts of Europe while taking classes that fulfilled his major requirements.
This past summer, Tyler interned at Solatube in Carlsbad, CA where he got many hours of hands-on experience. After he graduates from SDSU, he has been offered a position and is planning to continue at this company. He is unsure of any specific long term goals, but he looks forward to his time at this company and his future experiences in the field of engineering.
