Dr. Camacho contributed to a publication that was featured as a “Very Important Paper” on the cover of ChemPhysChem journal. The work is entitled, “Phase Equilibrium of TiO2 Nanocrystals in Flame‐Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition”. Experimental observations were combined with theory of nanoparticle phase equilibrium to improve predictions of the stable crystal phases in titanium oxide nanocrystalline systems. The work demonstrates the importance of gas-phase oxygen adsroption / desorption during formation of nanoparticles in high-temperature environments. Nano-scale titanium oxide is an important material for many applications including solar cells and chemical sensors. Future work will extend this theory to other materials and applications.
