Eric Ohler


Eric is an undergraduate mechanical engineering student graduating in May 2018. Eric has been involved in various student organizations at San Diego State University, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Design Build and Fly (DBF), and Tau Beta Pi. Eric served as an officer in ASME and participated in the Student Design Competition (ASME SDC), helping to design and manufacture a robot capable of forming and launching a paper projectile. He has been a member of Tau Beta Pi – California Xi since the spring of 2017.

Outside of school, Eric has worked as a mechanical and manufacturing engineering intern at General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) since 2016. Eric was offered a summer internship during his sophomore year and has stayed in his role part-time throughout college. He primarily designs tooling and fixtures for GA-EMS’s manufacturing plant to be used for the manufacturing and inspection of parts and assemblies. After graduation, Eric plans on joining his team at GA-EMS as an engineer full-time and plans to someday return to school for his M.S. in mechanical engineering.

Aside from his academic and professional life, Eric is a San Diego local and his hobbies include surfing, recreational sports, and photography.
