NSF has approved the extension of CSNE (Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering)

Following a successful Year 6 Site Visit in May 2017, NSF has approved the extension of CSNE (Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering) ERC funding to its maximum 10 years. This decision will allow funding to the Center to continue till 2021. SDSU continues to be an active and productive member of this multi-institution ERC led by UW. Funding for SDSU for 2017-2018 at $354,900 has already been approved supporting 5 PIs at SDSU’s College of Engineering. ME has a strong representation at CSNE at Deputy Directorship position. The Student Leadership Council (SLC) president for 2017-2018 is also ME graduate student. We currently have 5 ME/BioE graduate and several undergraduate actively involved in CSNE research efforts. In summer 2017, ME had hosted REU (Research Experience for Undergraduate) student from UW while 2 of our students spent time at leading Labs in UW as REU students.
